I really enjoy unique spaces that don’t follow tradition – I find them so engaging.
This kitchen grabbed my attention for a number of reasons, beginning with the steel framed windows.
Along with serving a practical purpose in allowing the light to flood in, the windows which abut the kitchen joinery also look out over the neighbouring buildings which certainly makes doing the dishes all the more interesting!
One of my favourite features of this kitchen was the arched doorway which opens out into the lushness of the green garden and the stone kitchen floor tiles appear to match the outdoor paving, making the transition between inside and out even more seamless.
I think the industrial feel of the black light fittings works perfectly with the steel door and window frames and the fineness of the fittings stops them from being too austere.
As always, the use of wood gives warmth to any space and the solid ceiling beams frame the space beautifully, offsetting the stark black and white colour palette and giving the room depth and character.
The oak joinery with the magnificent blue stone counter top grounds the space so effectively and the black carriage light, wood pile and basket are a nice touch, making this kitchen such an appealing, inviting space.
Given that we can spend so much time in the kitchen, it would be a pleasure in this gorgeous space!
